GILGIT- Pakistan has kicked off a project to connect Gilgit Baltistan with Rawalpindi through laying optical fiber from Khunjerab Pass to Rawalpindi.
According to the details, the optical fiber line will be 820 km long and would cover the areas starting from Khunjerab and ending at Rawalpindi. This project is the part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which has been inaugurated today by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
This project of optical fiber would offer improved Information Technology services to the people of Northern Areas of Pakistan. The project would incur the amount of 44 million dollars.
As the result of this project, people of Pakistan’s northern areas would enjoy uninterrupted internet connectivity. The project has been started from now.
